POWERFLOW DESIGNS
FLOW/CON AIR DIFFUSERS with large POWERFLOW airjets can be used
for a wide variety of applications. They are very efficient at
entrapping and mixing air. The long throw of the airjets
can effectively propel warm ceiling air to cooler floor areas.
The mass and velocity of the jets can cause air circulation
30 - 40' beyond their profile and this can often provide low cost
cooling. Properly designed, POWERFLOW DIFFUSERS can effectively
disperse and diffuse untempered, heated or cooled air. The
following are several typical applications.
1. MAKEUP AIR
. With a FLOW/CON POWERFLOW DIFFUSER connected
to a makeup air unit, the incoming air can be dispersed evenly
over a large manufacturing area. To save energy, unheated airjets
can be directed upward to mix with warm ceiling air in winter
and then redirected downward to ventilate work areas in summer.
2. RELOCATE WARM
CEILING AIR. A fan and FLOW/CON POWERFLOW
DIFFUSERS can simply be used to blow warm ceiling air downward to
mix with cooler floor air. When done over a large area, energy
savings can be substantial.
3. WORKPLACE AIR
CIRCULATION. In hot
work environments, simple air circulation can improve
productivity. Large POWERFLOW airjets can be strategically
positioned along a diffuser to ventilate and cool individual work
stations.
4. EVAPORATIVE
COOLING. Over one mile of FLOW/CON fabric air diffusers
cool workers in a Texas manufacturing plant. All of the air ducts
and diffusers are made from a flame retardant woven polyethylene
material. Large fabric air ducts deliver evaporative cooled air to
dozens of POWERFLOW diffusers. The static pressure in the diffusers
discharges airjets downward through hundreds of large ports. A
cool breeze of air is directed at each work station, with velocity
about 300 FPM at head level. The system provides exceptional
worker comfort in a very hot environment.
